Today we are behind the wheel of the new Polestar 4 for a full road test. It is one of the most anticipated models from the Scandinavian brand, designed to redefine the concept of the electric coup\u00e9 SUV. A car that dares, breaks the rules, and introduces styling and technical solutions never seen before in this segment. The most striking one: the absence of a rear window. Polestar 4 is one of the most original cars currently on the market. The proportions are sporty, with a long bonnet, a sleek roofline, and a rear end that is muscular yet elegant.<\/p>\n

The \u201cDual Blade\u201d front lights make the car instantly recognisable, while the full-width rear LED light signature highlights its modern look. The Matrix LED headlights provide outstanding illumination: wide, precise, and intelligently managed to make night driving extremely safe and relaxing. A particularly eye-catching detail is the illuminated Polestar logo on the bonnet \u2014 a futuristic touch that immediately grabs attention and reinforces the hi-tech character of the car.<\/p>\n

The absence of a rear window allowed Polestar to push the rear pillars further back and extend the roofline, improving aerodynamics and interior space. Rear visibility is handled by a high-definition camera projecting onto a sharp, bright, adjustable digital mirror. The cabin perfectly embodies Scandinavian design: clean lines, sustainable materials, and technology that blends in without ever feeling intrusive. Polestar uses recycled fabrics, bio-based materials, and innovative trims, all with a strong focus on sustainability.<\/p>\n

The large 15.4-inch central display houses the Android Automotive\u2013based infotainment system with full Google integration, while a second 10.2-inch screen behind the steering wheel shows all essential driving information. An optional head-up display is also available. Perceived quality is extremely high: solid assembly, soft-touch materials, and an immediately premium atmosphere. This ambience is further enhanced by customizable interior lighting inspired by the planets of the solar system \u2014 each colour represents a celestial body, creating unique and evocative moods while driving.<\/p>\n

The seats are extremely comfortable and offer heating and massage functions, making long journeys even more enjoyable. Cabin space is surprisingly generous, helped by the huge glass roof that floods the interior with natural light and creates a strong sense of openness. For rear passengers, the lack of a rear window allowed Polestar to position the seats further back, resulting in comfort levels above the segment average.<\/p>\n

Polestar 4 is offered in two versions: the Long Range Single Motor with around 270 hp and rear-wheel drive, and the Long Range Dual Motor with over 540 hp and all-wheel drive. The SEA platform ensures a low centre of gravity, excellent rigidity, and a dynamic behaviour that is neutral and predictable \u2014 sometimes even pleasantly prone to oversteer when pushed. The more powerful version accelerates from 0 to 100 km\/h in under 4 seconds, while the active suspension allows you to adjust the ride: soft and absorbing on long trips, firmer and more precise when you want a sportier feel.<\/p>\n

Sound insulation is excellent and contributes to a refined, relaxing driving experience. Level 2 driver assistance systems are among the best we have tested: lane-keeping is smooth and never abrupt, while adaptive cruise control adjusts speed and distance with great finesse. On long motorway journeys the car seems to \u201cfloat\u201d, making driving intuitive and stress-free. The 102 kWh battery offers very solid range: in our motorway test, with temperatures around 10\u00b0C, we covered about 400 real kilometres \u2014 an excellent result given the weight, size, and performance. In mixed driving you can get closer to official figures, between 500 and 600 km.<\/p>\n

DC fast charging reaches up to 200 kW, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in just over 25 minutes. AC charging goes up to 22 kW, a rare and very welcome feature \u2014 it means a full charge in around 5 hours with a three-phase wallbox. The Google-based trip planner integrates real consumption, elevation data, and charging points, automatically calculating necessary stops and greatly reducing range anxiety.<\/p>\n

Polestar 4 is one of the most original and daring proposals in today\u2019s electric landscape. It combines unconventional design with advanced technology and high-level performance, with perceived quality that places it alongside the most renowned premium brands. Prices start at \u20ac65,100 for the Long Range Single Motor and \u20ac72,100 for the Long Range Dual Motor, excluding any promotions. Significant figures, but fully justified by what the car offers. Polestar 4 represents a new way of interpreting electric mobility: bolder, more mature, and above all more emotional. If the brand\u2019s future follows this direction, we can\u2019t wait to discover the next models.<\/p>\n
